1. Choose J Bracket Size
For lipped supports, select a bracket for the exact shelf depth. For example, an 11.25" deep shelf would use that size bracket.
2. Select Number of Brackets
Many shelves need more than two brackets for adequate support. For shelves longer than 36" we recommend three or more. Check out our guide for full recommendations
3. Plan Hardware
Each bracket order includes two matching lag bolts for installation into wall studs. For other shelving applications, such as drywall or concrete, we offerΒ speciality hardwareΒ separately.Β

Just what I needed! I used my own screws because I didn't have a big enough drill bit that fit the size that came with it⦠but otherwise great.
These are truly the perfect shelf brackets. I got both the regular and the heavy-duty brackets to create shelves in my kitchen; even the regular ones are holding my collection of Le Creuset pots with ease, just install with the recommended spacing.
You will need a socket wrench set, electric drill gun and a good level to install these, which I accomplished as a chubby 60-year-old-woman with no problems. Just watch your level and make sure you are using decent 5/4 lumber for the shelf that is not significantly bowed or warped in any direction.
Just beautiful -- I got the clear-coat finish -- and exactly what I'd envisioned. Thank you so much, Cascade, for offering such a high-quality, made-in-USA shelf system. I'll be back!
This is the second time I've ordered these brackets for shelving projects (I got the heavy duty for a bookshelf previously), and let me tell you, they are awesome! They are super sturdy, easy to install, and look so much nicer than any bracket you would find at a big box hardware store. Would 100 percent recommend.
