What Size Do I Need?

For J brackets, we suggest ordering for the exact shelf depth. That means if the shelf board is 12" deep (or wide), a 12" deep J bracket is needed.

We offer sizing for both dimensional lumber (such as from a hardware store) and other sizes common for custom shelves and pre made board.

How Many Brackets Do I Need?

Number of brackets needed based on shelf length:

0”-36” = 2

37”-68” = 3

69”-100” = 4

101”-132”= 51

33”-164” = 6

What Is a J Bracket?

A J bracket is a type of metal bracket shaped like the letter "J," - hence it's name. It's hook shape design allows to board to rest on the bracket held in by the front lip. These are our most popular bracket styles as they offer a minimal floating look with more support than hidden brackets.
