Our metal J bracket provides a strong and secure design for floating shelves. Achieve the look of suspended shelving with heavy duty, high quality steel and the clever hook shape that safely holds your boards.
We include 2" lag bolts with matching hex heads for installation into a wall stud.
For other installation applications, such as brick or concrete, we offer speciality hardware separately.Â

For lipped supports, select a bracket for the exact shelf depth. For example, an 11.25" deep shelf would use that size bracket.
Many shelves need more than two brackets for adequate support. For shelves longer than 36" we recommend three or more. Check out our guide for full recommendations
Each bracket order includes two matching lag bolts for installation into wall studs. For other shelving applications, such as drywall or concrete, we offer speciality hardware separately.Â
NEED HELP?
For J brackets, we recommend ordering based on the exact depth of your shelf. If your shelf board is 11.25" deep (or wide), you'll need a 11.25" deep J bracket.
We offer sizes to fit both standard dimensional lumber (available at hardware stores) and custom or pre-made shelf boards.
Our J brackets all have a 6" back leg to mount into the wall. This is sufficient to hold the sizes we offer.
We can customize the back leg down to 4" on orders of four or more. Shorter legs are not recommended to hold a shelf.
